The year runs on fixed dates and the office ends up holding every one of them. Here is what an academic year looks like from this desk.
- FebruaryTerm dates land. Seats for the elul intake are held before the fares for that week go anywhere, and held at a fixed number a family can plan against.
- AprilEach family is sent their own link and pays for their own child. The office never handles a card, never fronts money and never chases a parent for a share of a group invoice.
- JuneThe office sees one list. Who has ticketed, who has not, who booked themselves on a different day and now lands four hours before anyone is at the airport to meet them.
- AugustNames change. A student defers, a sibling joins, a passport comes back from renewal spelled differently. Corrections are made against the airline record rather than reissued at cost.
- Mid termA student needs to come home, tonight, for a reason nobody planned for. There is a number that answers and someone who can put them on the next aircraft while the office is still calling the parents.
- Through the yearYom tov breaks and the winter return are held from the same roster, so a student flies with the same record and the same fare basis all year.
